Guest user：We had a great stay at Kwena Lodge in September. We booked a Kwena Villa for our group of 5, which was huge, well equipped and clean. The Lodge, surrounded by beautiful landscape, is well run. Staff were friendly and helpful. The food was lekker, with a big variety during all meals. Nothing to complain about this. Unfortunately a cold front hit the area and we had a lot of rain. During one game drive we saw a lot of animals, including several rhino and lions on a kill. But we had the impression that the guides had to find the elephants for their guests. So two drives were very much focussed on this and it became quite frantic.
Guest user：The whole experience was unbelievably good and made perfect by the fact that our guide was Stan - he is incredible! I half expected that the animals would be dots in the far distance, but Stan's skill, knowledge and experience meant that we were often only a few meters from elephant, rhino, wildebeest, zebra, giraffe and even lions! The lodges on the reserve were extremely well-appointed, the food was great and the wine list even better! I have to finish off though with Stan again - he made our trip and he will go down as one of the all-time great characters and has been "adopted" by us as an honorary Wilson due to his empathy, upbeat character and great sense of humour. If you can get Stan to lead your game drives, you have won first prize!!
