Guest：The room was spacious and the bed comfortable. But I wouldn’t say that Norman’s place is a ‘boutique guest house’ as it’s advertised on some sites. It’s more a ‘work in progress’ with plenty of yet-to-be realised potential. Parts of the interiors are dated and in need of revamping, and partly the work has already begun making the individual rooms look patchy. The furniture seems to have been collected from here and there, so it can’t really give a uniform impression. Some carpets are new (but from the cheap end), some are hopelessly dated probably waiting to be replaced. The enjoyable Salthill is within walking distance, whereas the city centre requires a bus. All in all, it’s not really worth the price. But maybe in a few years time after the repairs and refurbishments are completed it might be a great place to stay.
