The room reeked, and we stayed there for the first day the room was overbearingly stinking and hot. On the second day, we asked for a fan. We found a water cooler which made our room smell more of mould, I understand this is a student facility, but I would not let my child stay in these conditions. The bed was supposed to be double but I would say it was a king single. Very disappointed.

Budget option with the essentials for exploring the city. It is recommendable as long as you do not expect anything fancy. Double beds are somewhat narrow, but fine. Hotel is located approximately 20-30 minutes walking from the city center, in a quiet area.

I enjoyed my stay at the Brae House. I would certainly go for another stay if I happen to be in Scotland.

Very friendly staff. Rooms clean and bed very comfy. Helpful addition of small aircon unit made room less stuffy

The staff are really friendly, the room is clean, and the price is reasonable, though it’s a little distance from the city centre.

Hotel was university dorm rooms. Small but comfortable and had toilet and shower. There is a shared kitchen (shared between ~6 rooms). Walls were thin which is a problem if neighbours are noisy. Location is decent, plenty of restaurants and pubs within walking distance. Overall it's an ok place to stay, not cheap but not bad value compared to other places in the city. Note that hotel charges ￡5 per bag if you want to leave things behind the counter until check in time.

The staff is very nice, polite and helpful.
The room was clean, beds were super comfortable. The street was quite noisy at night, but we still had a very good sleep. The kitchen was right next to our room and it felt like sauna there, however it had everything needed for cooking.
Luggage storage is available at ￡5 per bag (can be paid by card). No deposit needed on checkin.
If we ever visit Edinburgh in summer again, we will definitely stay at Destiny campus.

We needed somewhere central to explore the fringe festival that didn't break the bank, this ticked all the boxes! The 24hr reception was a godsend, so we got there early doors & put our bags in reception for a fiver & didn't check in until midnight so that we didn't miss any planned shows having to come back & check in at 3pm. Student dig rooms so obviously not too spacious, but suited us fine, only complaint would be the heat, extremely warm in the room, but leaving the window open means you here the trains all night so not ideal.Fans were available to hire at reception though in case our become too much, which or didn't for us thankfully.

I stayed at Destiny Student – Holyrood and had a really good experience. The place is very budget-friendly – great value for the money. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and it’s in a perfect location for exploring Edinburgh. Many attractions are nearby, which made it very convenient for sightseeing.
If you’re looking for an affordable stay while enjoying everything Edinburgh has to offer, I would highly recommend this place to everyone.
