We had a king-sized room with very dusty furniture, my wife could hardly breeze, no fridge, no face washers,no windows ( to the outside) the once facing outside are right on the Great Western Highway and are very noisy. The room had bad lights you could not read a paper. It is a heritage building ,very nice but not "Boutique" and you don't get pampered. We paid $260.00 per night; you get much better accommodation for that price in the Blue Mountains.

The new owners are very nice people. Having said that for a $200 room, it was very small and the bathroom was so tiny with no place to put your clothes or toiletries. The library was quaint although some complimentary refreshments would be a nice touch. The breakfast was very disappointing. This place has such potential but I wont be back. They could mow the lawn!

My wife and I travelled up for a two night stay on late notice. This was one of the few places left with rooms other than the big resorts (Fairmont, Echoes, Lilianfels) and we didn't want impersonal service. This proved to be an unexpected delight as a result. We have driven past it many a time, and I'd often wondered what it was like instead. The answer - comfy, cosy, like staying in a true period piece while also maintaining a high level of comfort. Well-decorated common areas are available for use, the room was spacious and the ensuite was a little dated but functional. The staff were only to happy to help and chat (we were the only residents on our first night, so that probably didn't hurt), and the breakfast, etc, was a nice spot to stop and eat overlooking the gardens. We didn't head out into them because the bountiful rain left us staying indoors most of the time.
