I have been visiting Siwa every winter for the past 8 years, and it’s always been a wonderful experience—until this year. I decided to stay at Albab EnshalHotel, and unfortunately, it turned out to be my worst experience in Siwa. From the start, things felt off. The staff didn’t take my ID to check in, which seemed unprofessional and concerning. The room itself was far from what I expected—it was unclean, with a filthy carpet and mold covering the bathroom walls. I took pictures to document this because it was truly shocking. The food was another major disappointment. It was not only bad but also served in excessive amounts. When I got a glimpse of the kitchen, it looked more like a trash bin than a place where meals should be prepared. To top it all off, when I tried to check out and pay with my credit card, they refused and insisted on cash only, something they hadn’t mentioned beforehand. Adding to my frustration, I didn’t receive any paper or receipt to prove my payment. This left me wondering whether the money even goes to the main office or just ends up unaccounted for. After this experience, I won’t be returning to Allbab Enshall Hotel and cannot recommend it to anyone looking for a clean and enjoyable stay in Siwa.

Had a most enjoyable stay at Albabenshal Lodge, Siwa in November 2023. Arriving after a long bus trip from Alexandria the manager, Salama, offered a welcoming tea and conversation. Salama was extremely kind and friendly throughout my stay, providing helpful advice and arranging local sightseeing for several of us who were staying at the hotel at the same time. Due to an early check-out he provided me with a breakfast box for my bus trip. Thanks also to Mohammed, who took us to many sights, including the salt lakes and hot springs in his (Ferrari) tuk tuk. The room was simple but comfortable (and being an interior room it was quiet). I had several meals at the Albabenshal (including on the upstairs terrace with amazing views over the adjoining 13th century Shali fortress), all of which were good. Breakfast was delicious and the large tables conducive to conversation and making friends with other guests. And finally the location is wonderful. Right in the historic centre of Siwa and next to the Shali fortress. Would definitely recommend.

We really loved our stay at Al Babinshal. We a ground floor room with wonderful original features (as the hotel is part of the old fort) and simple, stylish decor. Despite the 40 degree heat the room was cool. The breakfast was the best of all the breakfasts we had in Egypt - falafel, eggs, fruit and wonderful hibiscus jam! Salaman, the owner is a really special guy, he made us feel really at home, nothing was too much trouble and he helped with tours in/around Siwa and onward travel and accommodation without being pushy or over-pricing. try and contact the hotel direct to get best rates.

Posto molto bello, costruito di fianco alla fortezza di Shali e con la stessa pietra mista a sale. Salama e Mohammed Ali di grande supporto con consigli e per escursioni a Siwa. Abbiamo cenato una sera sul terrazzo e si mangia benissimo!

An excellent hotel in the centre of Siwa. A great manager Salamar who was always helpful and gave good advice. I would stay again and the breakfast was excellent. I consider this hotel to be the best in Siwa.

Amazing hotel with great stuff , very clean and food was delicious ...The hotel location is at the centre and surrounded with many shops and close to shali citadel a great place to visit Mr Salem the hotel manager is very friendly and joyful
