  • Guest：The main building of hotel-restaurant Kolari is one of the oldest buildings in Kolari. So this place is historical. However, my standard room was renovated in 2019 and it looked almost like new. I had a television, a fridge (quite loud), a microwave oven, blackout curtains and a ventilation window with an insect nest in my room. All those facilities aren't available in every room. My bathroom was big. The reception was situated in Restaurant Me?n Paikka in the main building. Both the reception, the restaurant and the main door were closed after 8 p.m. but it is possible to use the room key 24/7 at the back door. The hotel is located only 400 meters from the railway station of Kolari and along the highway E8. So you may hear some traffic noise in your room but in Lapland roads aren't very busy. There is a grocery store (K-Market Kolari, closes usually at 9 p.m.) next to the hotel but nothing special to see. However, I walked to Kolarinsaari (distance about 4 kilometers in one way) to see the historical wooden church (built in 1818) and Lukkarinvainion luontopolku (Lukkarinvainio Nature Trail). The breakfast buffet was available in Restaurant Me?n Paikka at 8-9 a.m. but the buffet was very limited. It looked like home breakfast. Porridge and bacons were served to the table. Everything tasted good. Service was extremely kind.
