Just had two nights at this B & B, can’t recommend it highly enough, very welcoming hosts who made sure we had an excellent stay. A fantastic breakfast, very clean and well located in the centre of Brecon. Well sized and appointed bedrooms.

Husband & I had a three night stay here over the August bank holiday weekend. Owned by a lovely couple who made us feel really welcome. Our room (Brecon) was really tastefully decorated and large with beautiful views from the sash window. Lovely to wake up to with a cuppa. Lots of lovely treats, teas, coffees & milk in the room. Breakfast was really delicious. I’m a vegetarian, diabetic and was well looked after. Thank you for letting me take some of the jam and honey up Pen Y Fan just in case. Our room and all communal areas were spotlessly clean & bed super comfy. We literally had everything we needed, like a home from home. Thank you for having us. We both would highly recommend.

Lovely welcome really enjoyed our relaxing stay and lovely breakfast great location. The accommodation was clean and a lovely comfortable bed. There was plenty of room for parking close to the accommodation. We would definitely love to return at some point.

Dear Nigel and Team, I hope this message finds you well. I wanted to take a moment to express my gratitude for the delightful stay we had at your guesthouse during our weekend getaway to Pen Y Fan. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that the guesthouse was the perfect choice for our trip. The rooms were impeccably appointed with all the amenities one could wish for. The bedding was incredibly comfortable, and the generous blanket was a cosy touch that we greatly appreciated. The room itself was spotless, warm, and filled with thoughtful details that showed just how much the owners care about their guests' comfort. The bathroom, too, was pristine and well-stocked with a variety of extras. The locally sourced shower gel and shampoos were a lovely touch that added to the overall experience. Breakfast was another highlight of our stay. It was superb and cooked to absolute perfection. The use of locally sourced, high-quality ingredients made all the difference, and it was a fantastic way to start our day. Nigel, your informative and welcoming demeanour, along with the friendliness of the entire team, made us feel right at home. We truly felt like valued guests, and that made our stay even more special. Without a doubt, we would not hesitate to return for another stay. A great little hotel. Excellent location and beautifully decorated. The room was super comfortable, and they had thought of everything! A great range of tea, coffee, hot chocolate, and snacks in the room. Shower gel, soap, lotion, toothpaste, shower cap, etc etc all in the room and an amazing bath! Breakfast was delicious and our hosts were friendly and helpful. We had an amazing stay and loved it

the stay was made even better by the lovely room i was given and the superb breakfasts i had for all of 3 day stay - the room had everything and was very comfortable. it even had a bath and i dont have one at home anymore. the radiator was right by the bed so i was warm all night even in february

This really is an absolute gem of a place, recently restored to an extremely high standard. Everything is just perfect, from the delightful, spacious and superbly comfy rooms, to all the thoughtful little extras and lovely toiletries. The decor is also just gorgeous! We stayed for 3 nights and my first thought every morning was of the delicious breakfast I was about to have! Nigel and Myfanwy are excellent hosts and we will certainly be booking another stay at Mount Street House so we can do some more exploring in this fabulous part of Wales.

Me and a friend stayed here for a long weekend in the Brecons and loved our stay here. Everything was well thought out and faultless, from the yummy breakfast to the little extras such as fresh water left out for us after a days walking. Overall a great stay, and would 100% recommend to anyone looking for a central place to stay for exploring the Brecons.

Booked here for a few days and it was a lovely stay. Me and my wife enjoyed the room, location and breakfast very much. Highly recommended. Right next to the town centre and ample parking in area plus a number of places to eat and drink.

We had the best time at Mount Street House. At check in we were met by Nigel who showed us to our room and easily accommodated our plans to take a sunrise walk up Pen Y Fan. He asked us to message our breakfast order through to them if we were going to be back in time for breakfast. Luckily we were as the smoked salmon and scrambled eggs were to die for! We also had toast with Welsh preserves, tea, coffee and juices all served in a lovely dining room on beautiful Portmeirion china. My partner had just proposed up Pen Y Fan ?? and the staff went above and beyond with some lovely Bucks Fizz for us and a card which we thought was such a kind and brilliant touch. Our room was large and had a very comfortable bed with lots of amenities. The complementary toiletries were all a very high quality and all towels were large and fluffy. The guest house is in a lovely location just off the main street of Brecon and ideal for exploring the Beacons. The second morning we tried the full English breakfast, but started with natural yoghurt, fresh fruit, granola and honey. All of the elements were of the highest quality and cooked beautifully. The breakfast selection was vast and nothing was too much trouble. Check out was easy but we didn’t want to leave! Nigel and Myfanwy made us feel incredibly welcome but weren’t at all overpowering. Overall we had an amazing stay and will definitely be back and recommend Mount Street to anyone wanting the spend time in Wales.
